Couple of updates on previously blogged incidents!
My friend picked me up this morning even though it wasn’t raining…which was a good thing because I beat my snooze alarm too damned many times to get out of the house on time…because I knew my friend was giving me a ride.
Seems kinda circular, doesn’t it?
Got up this morning and dawdled a bit getting out of the house, but I still have the rental for another couple of days so neither that, nor the stopping for coffee because there was frickin’ FROST ON THE ROOF OF THE CAR and the temp display on the dashboard said it was 29 degrees, got in the way of arriving on time for work.
Also, PIE FOR BREAKFAST!
A day late, but I warned y’all that might happen — this is for 12/26/15.
Since I knew I was going to be renting a car over the holiday weekend, I arranged to get together with a friend I haven’t seen in more than a year, for lunch/dinner/both (depending on when I got out of the house and the amount of traffic I hit on the way) and as much of a slumber party as we could manage. Which itself would likely depend on how enthusiastic we got with the vino. 🙂
Tough day today. Too much bad stupid shit happening in the world. Work went well, but for some reason I felt chased by ALL THE THINGS, so it was productive but stressed — I think it’s still catching-up mode in my head. ***sigh***
And one of the worst bus drivers I’ve ever encountered on the trip home. I honestly think he trained at the modern incarnation of the bus drivers’ school Bob Newhart told us about in 1961. “Accelerator, brake, accelerator, brake…” He (the driver) annoys me so much, I have sometimes left the bus halfway home to grab dinner, just so I can ride the rest of the way with someone who drives like they know what they’re doing.
There it is! Today, I’m grateful this guy only drives my route two days a week!
Things that can be problematic in this city without a car of your own:
Getting to work
Having a social life
Originally (and still) posted on the Book of Face, but since I’ve been planning to get back to blogging, the posts will go on my blog with a link from FB. The only change from there to here is that “Thanksgiving Day” in the third paragraph was “yesterday” in the FB post. Other than that, same here as there. And that said, here we go:
The beginning of my 366 Days of Gratitude and Good Things project. Yes, there may be days when it’s something small or silly, and there will days away from the computer when I won’t be posting (*cough*Burning Man*cough*)–but I’ll make notes and catch up when I get back.
To start, a story from Thanksgiving Day,
